Accessing the website

When you access the website, your browser transmits technical information to our server, where it is stored in log files: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system. This information is necessary so that the website can be delivered and its operation remains secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after seven days at the latest.

Cookies, consent and privacy settings

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores. We use cookies and comparable technologies that are not technically necessary only with your consent. On your first visit we ask you about this, broken down into Necessary (stores your choice in the cookie “cc_cookie” for six months and cannot be deselected), Statistics (Google Analytics) and Marketing (Google Ads). The consent window is part of our website and does not load anything from third parties. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer of every page; the withdrawal takes effect for the future.

The legal basis for necessary cookies is § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; for all other cookies, it is your consent pursuant to § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

A further value is stored in your browser’s storage if you switch the display between light and dark or choose a location in the bar at the bottom of the screen – it stays on your device and does not reach us.

Google services

We only load Google services (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads) provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, once you have consented to “Statistics” or “Marketing”. Without consent, or after “Necessary only”, our website does not establish any connection to Google. With your consent, Google’s Consent Mode communicates your choice to the services: the Tag Manager only loads the tools you have consented to; it does not set any cookies itself and does not analyse any data. Google Analytics shows us how the website is used only if you have consented to “Statistics” (cookies “_ga” and “_ga_…”, storage period of up to two years). Google Ads measures whether an ad has led to an enquiry only if you have consented to “Marketing” (cookies “_gcl_au” and “_gcl_aw”, storage period of up to 90 days). When these services are loaded, Google receives your IP address for technical reasons; data may be transferred to the USA in the process; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you withdraw your consent, the page reloads without the deselected services.

Fonts and embedded content

The fonts used are stored on our server. No fonts, maps or videos are loaded from third-party providers; without your consent, visiting this website does not establish any connection to Google or other third parties.

Contacting us

If you write to us or call us, we process your details in order to respond to your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete them as soon as the matter has been concluded and no retention periods prevent this.

Links to the brands and to ProvenExpert

This website contains links to the websites of our brands and to the careers portal. As soon as you switch to one of them, the privacy notices of the respective website apply. The references to our reviews on ProvenExpert are also simple links; the rating figures and the quoted reviews are stored as text on our server. A connection to ProvenExpert is only established when you click on such a link.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future; for your cookie choice, you can do so via “Privacy settings” in the footer. Otherwise, please contact us at the address given above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information).
